When I watched the movie of You’re Not You -a story of a woman diagnosed with ALS (commonly
known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease), I was touched on how the movie was executed.
It’s not just about the progressive disease but with the storyline of the
movie.
Kate who has diagnosed with ALS is a married woman and a
successful classical pianist whom the life struggled with the effects of the
disease. With Bec, a brash college student and would-be rock singer who can
barely keep her wildly chaotic affairs, romantic and otherwise, together will
help Kate and she changed their lives. As Bec takes the job of assisting Kate,
care, compassion, understanding, patience love and especially, friendship
built. They are with each other’s ups and downs and surviving life’s challenges
not only with the said disease.
You’re Not You
explores how two strangers can bring out the best in each other even in the
midst of trials and tribulations. This movie also gives face to the much talked
about ALS and will definitely make people more compassionate with victim of the
said disease.
Sometimes, we should not take time on finding the remedy for
incurable diseases but we should look on the brighter side of life, that is,
enjoying and give thanks to The Creator for the life He has given to us.
This 103-minute movie with Hilary Swank, Emmy Rossum and
Joshua Duhamel will be in theaters on November 26, 2014.
