The Brainfit Advantage Leads You to Success

For one, we know the pick up the lessons faster and they remember them more. Outside of the class setting, top performers in arts or sports also have above average abilities on attention to detail, balance and coordination, speed, among many other traits. These traits are the ones that make the difference between the average and the best!

In the Philippines, children start the day roughly at 6am to get ready for school. School ends between 2-4pm and after that – they still have to go to tutor.

That’s easily 10 hours of “work” during school days. So, who says “children don’t get stressed”?

We walked into BrainFit Studio one afternoon, expecting to find the typical classroom in session, with teachers guiding students in standard tasks.

Instead, what we saw was that, within the same hour, the children – even those in the same class - were working on a different exercise as they focused in meeting their own learning needs, at their own pace.

“Each individual has a unique brain profile,” according to Ms. Cheryl Chia, Singapore-based clinical physiotherapist and founder of BrainFit Studio. “We assess each brain’s strengths and weakness with a CognitiveMAP™, an evaluation tool that determines which of your child’s 5 Brain Pillars need enhancement.”

What are Brain Pillars?

BrainFit Studio seeks to build in each child the 5 Brain Pillars, which comprise key cognitive abilities that form the foundations for all learning. The Brain Pillars are:

· Attention & Memory
· Sensory Motor Coordination
· Auditory & Language Processing
· Visual & Spatial Processing
· Social-Emotional Self-regulation

Earth Day Jam presents WORLD WATER DAY MUSIC JAM

As a prelude to the much awaited “EarthDay Jam”, the Foundation will join the upcoming Philippine Water Week and World Water Day celebration through a concert that aims to raise awareness on the various issues on water and push for the sustainable management of water resources . The World Water Day Concert is slated on March 18 at the Glorietta Activity Center in Makati City at 5pm.
Performers headlining the event are eco artist-producer Lou Bonnevie, top bands Freestyle, True Faith and Sandwich with the DLSU-CSB ComOne Ground Dance Crew alongside speakers from DENR and representatives from several LGU’s , academe and the civic society.

Booths exhibit around the stage located at Glorietta 2 will take place from 10 am until the mall closes. Exhibitors are headed by DENR, Manila Water Foundation ,Makati Rowers’ group, The Philippine Coast Guard, LGU’s and schools and the private sector.

This is the first undertaking of Earthday Jam Foundation, Inc. on the world water day celebration after its successful staging of the “Clear Air Concert” last November. It will set the mood to theupcoming Philippines’ longest-running environmental music event, “Earth Day Jam”, now on its 14th year and is scheduled on April 25.

Spearheaded by founder and rock icon Lou Bonnevie with music director-producer Toto Gentica, this year’s “Earth Day Jam” will again be graced by over 100 artists and musicians supported by experts and environmentalists. It will be the biggest music tribute and will sum up all the ecological initiatives by the group.

These events show that an advocacy movement could be fun despite its serious aim,” said Lou.

She continued, “People who will take part in the event will not only be encouraged to undertake an action for the benefit of our environment but can also enjoy the show through music jamming and the best part is it’s FREE.”

The singer wants to make use of her stardom to imbed nature consciousness to the public with music as her primary instrument.

“I realized that musical shows can be significant if it is done for a cause. As a singer, I can be a tool to influence other people to act on our nature’s problems,” said she.

She added that the creation of Earth Day Jam Foundation is a payback of sorts to the environment that has been abused by some people.

World Water Day is a special project of Earth Day Jam Foundation, Inc., in partnership with the Environmental Management Bureau of DENR and Glorietta and with support from Manila Water Foundation and the Dept. of Environmental Services of Makati City. Media partners are: Philippine Star, BusinessWorld, Crossover 105.1 and Radio High 105.9. For more info, call DENR 928-4674 or EDJF 8976991. GARAGE Young Talents at its 5th Bash!

Masculinity is not all about the simplest clothes a man could wear. It is not about how they wear the fashion trends. It’s about how they carry their selves in terms of style, taste and craze. Masculinity is just a word, you just have to show and create your own masculinity.

This is what GARAGE Young Talents do. They create men’s style and grooming in terms of fashion, entertainment, design, culture and arts. GARAGE also nurtures the same spirit in others by turning the limelight on individuals whose talents have made an impact in their respective fields. The magazine has been celebrating this creative force for the past five years since its inception. The past winners have included Enchong Dee, Sam Concepcion, Chris Cayzer and more.

GARAGE held the 5th Anniversary of its Young Talents in Skye Lounge last March 6, sponsored by Folded and Hung, Blackwater Scents, Skye, Saga Events and official drink sponsor, Hennessy.
